Amethyst and Violets 2.21 Recipe

When Kate and Kanice looked at February’s birthstone, the idea took shape immediately. We often think of Amethyst as purple-purple-purple! But in actuality, it’s another gemstone that comes in more colors. In addition to the many shades of purple we’ll also find striations of white and gray, plus a really gorgeous green variety, too! This mix of seed beads pays homage to them all.

It’s also a mix that reminds Kate of her dear Gran, whose birth month was February. Her favorite flower, the violet, is also evident in this mix...just imagine a field of them in bloom. Can you see it?

A delightful mix of all 8/0 purples, with splashes of pale green and gray, this mix lends itself easily to a loomed piece or beadweaving. You can find many ideas of what we’ve done with past Monthly Mixes here.
